The governing board of the Destin Fire Control District is made up of five commissioners who reside in the district.  The commissioners are elected in nonpartisan elections by the electors of the district and are elected for a term of 4 years.

All regular meeting are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 5:30 pm at Fire Station 9, located at 848 Airport Road, Destin, FL  32541.  The meetings are open to the public.
