Junior Lifeguard Program

The Destin Fire Control District is proud to announce the

              2026 Junior Lifeguard Program.

The Destin Junior Lifeguard Program offers youth ages 9 through 15 an opportunity to participate in a six-week summer adventure that introduces a wide range of valuable skills. The program emphasizes water safety education, lifesaving techniques, and physical fitness in a fun and engaging environment where participants build confidence and strength daily. Participants also gain hands-on experience with basic first aid and CPR concepts, along with learning about marine life, rip current awareness, and overall beach safety. 

Swim Test Required for Eligibility to Participate

Swim Test Dates (swim tests will ONLY be conducted on these dates)

• March 28th  – 10:00 a.m. Tajrenee Aquatic Center
• March 29th  – 1:00 p.m. Tajrenee Aquatic Center
• April 4th      –   10:00 a.m. Tajrenee Aquatic Center

The General Release form for Emerald Coast Fitness Foundation below must be signed by the legal guardian or parent and presented the day your child participates in the swim test

Dates and Times of the Program

The program will take place in Destin, Florida.  Program dates and times are as follows:

• June 8, 2026 to July 23, 2026 (Monday thru Thursday 8 am to 12pm)
  • No session week of July 4th
